John Jay College is seeking an Assistant Professor in Sociology, focusing on criminology or race-related research, with a start date in Fall 2027. The ideal candidate will exhibit a robust research agenda and teaching commitment. We are inviting applications for two tenure-track positions.
One focuses on criminological theory and criminal law within race contexts, while the other emphasizes sociology of race and ethnicity across various sociological subfields. Quantitative skills are a preferred asset for candidates. Key Responsibilities:
