We support clients across homes, schools, long‑term care facilities, and community settings throughout the Greater Toronto Area.We are intentional about who we partner with. Our Communicative Disorders Assistants value independence, flexibility, and high‑quality adult rehabilitation, while still having access to strong clinical and administrative support.You’ll practice under the umbrella of a well‑established, accredited organization, while maintaining autonomy in your day‑to‑day community‑based work.Caseload OverviewWe are currently recruiting for two Communicative Disorders Assistants to support a paediatric community caseload funded through Children’s Treatment Network. Services are delivered in publicly funded schools.You will have the opportunity to:Accept referrals that align with your availability, geography,



and clinical interestsBuild a caseload at a pace that works for youWhy Communicative Disorders Assistants Choose 1to1 RehabOur independent contractor model is intentionally designed for CDAs who want true flexibility without isolation.Control over caseload and schedule — accept or decline referrals based on fit and capacityFlexible scheduling that supports work–life balance, family commitments, or other clinical workPaediatric‑focused clinical support and mentorship, including consultation support for complex casesClear clinical escalation pathways and risk support — you’re not on your own when complexity arisesStrong administrative support, including scheduling, billing, and documentation assistanceMobile‑friendly documentation systems, significantly reducing after‑hours paperworkA sense of community and connection, even while working independently in the communityMany clinicians tell us they value the independence of contracting — but stay with 1to1 because independent doesn’t mean isolated here.What You’ll Be DoingSupporting children with challenges in speech sound production, fluency, and interactive communicationActively engaging children and caregivers to address communication goalsProviding fun intervention and innovative therapy activities and games to target speech goals based on the child’s interests and abilitiesUsing child‑centered fun online therapy materials for therapy and home programming activitiesActively engaging in child/family teaching and collaborating with family and child’s teamProviding evidence‑based therapy intervention,



tracking progressSupporting the recommendations made by supervising SLP regarding speech and language programming, accommodations, resources, and modifications for children and their familiesQualificationsCommunicative Disorders Assistant Certificate or Degree in Speech Language PathologyDemonstrated experience in working with children of all agesAbility to build solid relationships with families and provide support, feedback, and coachingExceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication (both written and verbal) skillsExperience providing therapy in person and virtuallyHave access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s licenseProof of professional liability insuranceCompletion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector CheckWho This Role Is Well‑Suited ForThis role is ideal for Communicative Disorders Assistants who:Want flexible, referral‑based work alongside other professional commitmentsValue clinical autonomy while still appreciating access to mentorship and supportEnjoy community practice and functional, meaningful rehabilitationWant flexibility that’s real — not just promisedUse of AI in RecruitmentPlease note that AI‑assisted tools may be used to support consistency and efficiency in parts of the recruitment process.
