The Department of Community Health Sciences (DCHS), in the Cumming School of Medicine (CSM), University of Calgary, invites applications for a Tenure‑Track Assistant Professor in Epidemiology with expertise in modern epidemiological methods, causal inference methods for observational studies, administrative health data, and/or real‑world evidence research. This role will contribute across the three pillars of scholarly activity. Approximately 55% of the time will be dedicated to research, 40% dedicated to teaching, and 5% dedicated to service.

Qualifications include a PhD (or equivalent) degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics, or a related discipline, and post‑doctoral training or equivalent academic experience. Applicants must present evidence of the ability to establish an externally funded research program (at the level of Tri‑Council or equivalent peer‑reviewed National/International organization) and a strong publication record (commensurate with career stage) as evidenced by publications in high‑impact disciplinary journals with a focus on those as first author. Applicants must also show evidence of successful mentoring, teaching and/or student supervision, in addition to evidence of academic engagement in qualified and other communities.
