About The Role

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving current business growth and ensuring customer success within the North East region of Alberta. You will execute sales strategies, build strong relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while representing Halter on the ground. This role requires a proactive, hands‑on approach focused on long‑term customer satisfaction and expansion.

What Your Day Could Look Like

- Prospecting New Business: Drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, meet with livestock associations, and build your pipeline through outbound lead generation while fielding inbound leads promptly.
- In–Field Sales: Work directly with ranchers on the ground—on horseback or side–by–side—to demonstrate how Halter can benefit their operations and to discuss value.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities: Identify upsell and cross‑sell chances with current customers, looking for ways to increase value over time.
- Hitting Sales Targets: Manage a pipeline with confidence, qualifying leads and progressing deals while keeping future targets in mind.
- Customer Account Management: Maintain close relationships after the sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address challenges.
- Territory Ownership: Own the entire territory, visiting stakeholders at local, state and federal levels and building lasting relationships with agricultural groups.
- Customer Onboarding: Ensure a smooth handoff from sales to implementation, owning the end‑to‑end customer experience during deployment.
- Field Learnings & Feedback: Act as the primary point of contact for gathering and advocating customer feedback within the territory.
- Collaborating with Support Teams: Partner across Halter to resolve issues quickly and keep customers fully supported.
- Attending Industry Events: Use relevant events and demonstrations to generate leads and deepen customer relationships.

- Contributing to the Canadian Sales Strategy: Work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the Canadian market.

You’ll be great if you exhibit

- Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive in high‑stakes environments.
- Ranching / Cattle Experience: Direct knowledge of ranching or cattle operations and their challenges.
- Sales & Customer Success Expertise: A strong track record creating opportunities, negotiating value‑based sales, and building lasting relationships.
- Territory Management experience: Managing large territories with balanced sales and customer success focus, ideally in agriculture or technology.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration ability: Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and effective with cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within your territory to engage customers and prospects.

Bonus things you could bring along to the role

- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer‑facing roles within agriculture technology.
- Background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.

Our Benefits

- Annual $750 self‑development budget for personal growth.

- Unlimited paid annual leave and wellness leave.
- 401(k) with employer match: 100% match on the first 3% and 50% match on the next 2% of contributions.
- Inclusive remuneration package including salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
