Purpose Tributary Public Risk (TPR) is a rapidly growing specialty Managing General Agent (MGA) and Lloyd’s of London's Coverholder focused exclusively on the Canadian public sector insurance market. TPR provides innovative insurance solutions to municipalities, Indigenous communities, public entities, educational institutions, non-profits and other public-sector organizations across Canada. Backed by deep municipal-sector roots and supported by modern underwriting technology, TPR is building a different kind of insurance organization—one that combines underwriting discipline, data-driven decision making and exceptional service.

The Underwriting & Technical Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the underwriting function, ensuring accurate policy processing, effective communication with brokers and clients, and timely completion of underwriting activities. The position contributes to business growth, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance by supporting underwriters in the delivery of high-quality insurance solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across underwriting, operations, technology and insurance data management while building a long-term career within a rapidly growing organization.

This is a remote position – must reside and work in Canada.

Responsibilities Manage submission intake and file setup

Review incoming applications for completeness

Organize underwriting documentation and supporting information

Assist with quote preparation and policy issuance





Support endorsements and policy changes

Coordinate broker requests and communications

Review exposure schedules, statement of values and supporting data

Assist with bordereaux reporting and insurer reporting requirements

Maintain underwriting records and workflow tracking

Support document management and file organization

Assist with system testing, process improvement and workflow automation initiatives

Support ongoing implementation and enhancement of underwriting technology platforms Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1–3 years of insurance industry experience preferred

Insurance brokerage, underwriting assistant or technical assistant experience considered an asset

CIP completed or actively pursuing is an asset

Strong administrative and organizational abilities

Exceptional attention to detail

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable learning new technology and systems

Experience in Microsoft Excel, Teams and CoPilot (and other AI tools)

Experience with SharePoint
