Be pivotal in the Oncology-Palliative Medicine Unit at North York General as a Unit Secretary. This part-time temporary role combines productive administrative tasks with a focus on patient-centered care. You'll support the collaborative efforts of healthcare providers while enhancing operational workflows. Effective written and verbal communication skills are crucial, as you will handle appointment scheduling, manage inquiries, and ensure meticulous documentation of patient information.

Your role contributes to safe and compassionate patient care in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with scheduling and patient transports
- Manage incoming calls and relay messages accurately
- Document timekeeping and payroll for staff
- Track admissions, discharges, and order statuses
- Support clinicians with system entry functions Requirements:
- Medical Office Assistant certificate required
- Previous experience with payroll systems preferred
- Medical terminology knowledge essential
- Typing speed minimum of 45 words per minute
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Contribute to a healing environment while optimizing administrative functions in the Oncology department.
