Join the Community and Mental Health team as a Community Nutritionist, focusing on clinical nutrition in a primary care setting. Develop nutrition programs tailored to community needs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
This role reports to the Manager of Allied Health and requires a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition, along with licensing from the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. You will provide individual counseling for chronic disease management and facilitate group programming to promote health within the community. Your experience working with diverse populations, particularly those with historical trauma, will be instrumental in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and implement clinical nutrition programs
• Provide individual counseling on nutrition and diet
• Facilitate community group programming
• Collaborate with Dietetic Aide for local food initiatives
• Support chronic disease prevention strategies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Applied Human Nutrition
• Licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians
• 1-3 years of dietitian experience
• Knowledge of North End Halifax
• Familiarity with community trauma and nutrition approaches
