What you'll do Lead the development and execution of strategies that enhance developer productivity and satisfaction across the organization.
Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in the development process.
Establish metrics and KPIs to measure developer effectiveness and track progress over time.
Drive the adoption of modern development tools and practices, ensuring that teams have access to the latest technologies.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote best practices in software development and agile methodologies.
Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among development teams, encouraging open communication and feedback.
Work closely with product management to align development efforts with business goals and customer needs.
Advocate for developers' needs within the organization, ensuring that their voices are heard in decision‑making processes.
Monitor industry trends and advancements in software development to keep the organization at the forefront of technology.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners to enhance our development capabilities.
Create a roadmap for continuous improvement initiatives,



ensuring that the development teams are always evolving and adapting.
Report regularly to senior leadership on the status of developer effectiveness initiatives and their impact on overall productivity.
Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on developer effectiveness or similar areas.
Proven experience in implementing process improvements and best practices within a software development environment.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision‑making and improvements.
Experience with up-to-date development tools and technologies, including CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and project management tools.
Nice to have Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience in a technology-focused company or startup environment.
Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Previous experience in a role that involved direct interaction with software engineers and development teams.
Skills & tools Proficient in using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
Solid analytical skills with experience in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
Understanding of software architecture and design principles.
Practical notes This position is based in Oakville, Ontario, and may require occasional travel to other company locations or industry events.
