GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high quality holistic nursing care to oncology patients during their entire cancer care experience including: assessment, intervention, treatment coordination and administration, teaching, counselling, support and follow-up.



This position reports to a Site Manager or Provincial Manager within the Care Services Division; however, different reporting mechanisms may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Nursing

Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C

Oncology Nursing Certification is an asset

Memberships:

Licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).

Skills:

Relevant clinical knowledge and ability to apply clinical knowledge in practice.

Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short- or long-term goals.

Considerable judgment and problem-solving ability is required to identify, analyze and define problems and select the most appropriate solution to rectify them.
