We are seeking a passionate and actively engaged Health & Safety Technician to join our Health & Safety Team. As the Health & Safety Technician, you will play an integral role in promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace by providing practical, hands-on health and safety support across all areas of the Club. As a visible and approachable resource, you will partner with employees, supervisors, and contractors to reinforce safe work practices, support regulatory compliance, coordinate training and incident management, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Club’s Health & Safety Management System.
This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional who enjoys building relationships,identifyingopportunities for improvement, and fostering a team-oriented culture where the health, safety, and wellness of employees, members, guests, and contractors are a shared priority.
Responsibilities Provide visible, day-to-day health and safety support, coaching, and guidance to employees, supervisors, and contractors across Club operations
Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the Club’s Health & Safety Management System while ensuring compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, WCB requirements, COR standards, WHMIS, and internal policies
Coordinate and participate in workplace inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations,



audits, corrective actions, risk controls, and annual COR audit activities
Deliver and coordinate health and safety orientations, training programs, safety initiatives, and the administration of PPE, certifications, and training records
Maintain accurate health and safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, audits, compliance records, and trend analysis using the Club’s safety management systems
Assist with life safety systems, occupational hygiene activities, access control, food safety processes, and other compliance-related programs that support a safe workplace
Build collaborative relationships across departments while promoting a proactive safety culture through regular communication, coaching, continuous follow-up, and actively supporting the Health, Safety & Wellness Committee
Qualifications 1–2 years of experience in a health and safety role, including conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and supporting corrective actions;experience in recreation, hospitality, Club or other multi-service organizations is considered an asset
Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation, WCB processes, COR requirements, and WHMIS; aCHSC, QHSO, or another recognized health and safety designation (or actively working toward one) is considered an asset, along with experience supporting life safety systems,H&S; Audits, and occupational hygiene activities
Experience coordinating or delivering health and safety training, orientations, or safety awareness initiatives, with confidence presenting to groups and strong public speaking skills
Strong organizational, administrative,



and multitasking skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships in a front-line, member-facing environment, while collaborating effectively with employees, leaders, contractors, and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee matters with discretion, exercise sound judgment, and resolve conflict professionally and diplomatically
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or the ability to obtain prior to employment)
