Overview Thousand Islands Veterinary Services is a small animal GP with a doctor who has a special interest in all exotic animals. We have a team that cares about each other, is supportive, and enjoys teaching. We live in a truly beautiful part of Ontario.

Responsibilities Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe or assist in surgical procedures, and manage patients medically. In addition to clinical skills, externs will practice communication with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship Details

Externship experiences typically last two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate.

Stipend

Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
