The GRA’s economy reached an estimated $18.2B in GDP in 2025, with agriculture contributing <$1B and energy <$4B respectively. Home to hundreds of agriculture firms and energy firms, the GRA boasts solid foundations in innovation, sustainability and industrial excellence. The GRA’s emerging leadership in nuclear energy, supported by a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) supply chain and the $1B uranium industry, further highlights its transformative potential in domestic and global markets.
The Position The Vice President works in direct partnership with the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to strengthen Economic Development Regina's organizational performance and advance its strategic priorities.
The role exists to translate strategy into measurable results by providing executive leadership across EDR's highest-priority initiatives, building organizational capability, and ensuring strategic priorities are executed consistently across the organization. Working across functions, teams, and external partnerships, the Vice President aligns people, resources, and decision-making to increase organizational impact, improve performance, and support the evolution of EDR's operating model.
The Vice President provides executive leadership wherever it is most needed. The specific portfolio, reporting relationships, and organizational responsibilities assigned to the role may evolve over time as EDR's priorities, opportunities, and organizational design continue to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO to establish organizational priorities and ensure effective execution.
- Provide executive leadership across strategic initiatives.
- Exercise decision-making accountability with significant internal and external impact.
- Hold financial and budget accountability within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Lead through influence and collaboration regardless of formal reporting relationships.
- Develop leaders and strengthen organizational capability.
- Drive organizational results through EDR's performance framework.
- Advance the systems and infrastructure that strengthen EDR's ability to measure and demonstrate its impact.
- Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and strategic responses.
- Represent EDR with external stakeholders.
- Participate in Board and Committee meetings as required, in support of the CEO.
- Contribute to corporate strategy and organizational development.
- Serve as Acting President and CEO when required.
Performance Outcomes
Success is defined by organizational outcomes rather than ownership of specific departments or functions.
- Translate corporate strategy into measurable organizational outcomes.
- Strengthen Regina's economic competitiveness through business growth, expansion, investment, innovation, and resilience.
- Contribute to EDR's own financial sustainability and revenue diversification as the organization reduces reliance on municipal funding.
- Improve organizational performance through planning, prioritization, execution, and accountability.
- Build leadership capacity and high-performing teams.
- Strengthen collaboration across functions.
- Identify opportunities that accelerate EDR's strategic objectives.
- Capture near-term opportunities where existing organizational momentum can produce early, visible impact.
- Build productive relationships with governments, Indigenous partners, industry, investors, and community organizations.
- Develop systems and capabilities that improve decision-making and performance.
- Support the evolution of EDR's operating model.
Salary Range
$113,000 to $135,000 based on level of experience and other factors.
Position Type
Full-time, permanent.
Job Requirements
- Must live in the Greater Regina Area, or willing to relocate
- Valid driver's license
- 5-10% travel required (within province)

- Knowledge of economic development, investment, business growth, or related fields is an asset.
