Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Occupational Health and Safety Officer to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and promote a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to employees.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.

Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.

Deliver safety training and awareness programs for employees and management.

Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and compliance documentation.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required reports.

Promote a culture of safety through continuous improvement initiatives.





Monitor and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.

Certification such as CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or equivalent preferred.

Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and standards.

Experience conducting risk assessments and safety audits.

Excellent communication and training skills.Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports.

Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of environmental health and safety practices.

Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
