Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Management:
Provide strategic direction and overall management of all programs within their department, making high-level decisions related to staffing, budgeting, program development, and policy implementation.
Set goals, develop strategies, and allocate resources to achieve organizational objectives.
Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and funders in consultation with the Executive Director to enhance program sustainability and expansion.
Lead program development efforts, identifying, with the support of their coordinators, emerging needs, gaps in services, and opportunities for innovation and growth.
Operational Oversight:
Lead, oversee and collaborate with Program Coordinators to develop and implement a framework of measures for quality assurance in all aspects of the programs.
Monitor program objectives, progress, and contributions to community education and awareness activities.
Coordinate services with partners and other service providers to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
Liaise with funders, prepare funding applications, and ensure that program targets are clearly defined, communicated to teams, and achieved.
Ensure policy and procedures are developed and implemented in programs and participate in their ongoing review.
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide leadership and direction to Program Coordinators and staff, setting explicit expectations and fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
Participate in the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of program staff, students, and volunteers.
Support Program Coordinators through training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
Evaluate the performance of Program Coordinators, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews,



and addressing any performance issues or concerns.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Monitor program performance, outcomes, and impact through regular evaluations and data-driven decision-making.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Contribute written material for monthly and annual reports to the board and program funders.
Financial Management and Reporting:
Prepare annual program budgets in consultation with the Finance Manager and Executive Director, approve and monitor expenditures, and identify areas for budget adjustments.
Ensure proper documentation of expenditures.
Prepare reports for the Ministry and/or other funders.
Communication and Representation:
Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the programs and increase community awareness and education on client-related issues.
Represent the program and Centre on various committees, coalitions, and community groups.
Actively participate in center-wide activities and committees to promote and sustain the successful operations of the center.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
What we would like to find in you University degree in social work or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a community-based social service organization.
Minimum of two years managerial experience directing the work of front-line professionals.
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs, budgets, and manage human resources.
Demonstrated understanding of key issues impacting the client groups within portfolio programs.
Fluency in oral and written communication skills in English and French. French language skill is mandatory .
Highly adaptable: ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a matrix environment.
Must submit and maintain a favourable criminal reference check.
Vehicle required and a valid driver’s license.
