Senior Lighting Sales & Product Training Specialist

Location: Vancouver, BC preferred; qualified candidates in Canada or the United States may be considered

Job Type: Full-time

Travel: Regular travel within Canada and the United States

Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 base salary + performance-based compensation, depending on experience.

BL Lighting is a Vancouver-based architectural lighting manufacturer founded in 1986 by Betty Lou Pacey. For nearly 40 years, we have worked with architects, designers, engineers, distributors, lighting agencies, and contractors to deliver technical architectural lighting solutions for commercial, hospitality, entertainment, retail, and high-profile custom projects.

We are growing our sales, training, and agency-support capabilities across Canada and the United States. We are looking for an experienced lighting professional who can help educate the market, support our sales representatives, deliver product presentations, and strengthen BL Lighting’s presence with agencies, distributors, specifiers, and key customers.

This role is ideal for someone who already understands the lighting industry and enjoys combining technical product knowledge, sales support, presentations, relationship-building, and follow-through.

About the Role

The Senior Lighting Sales & Product Training Specialist will support BL Lighting’s sales growth by helping our agencies, distributors, customers, and internal team better understand and present our products.

This is not a purely internal training role and it is not only a traditional outside sales role. It is a hybrid position that requires lighting knowledge, presentation ability, technical communication, and comfort working with sales reps, specifiers, distributors, and customers.

The right person will be able to walk into a conversation with a lighting agency, architect, designer, distributor,

contractor, or internal sales team and communicate clearly, professionally, and accurately.

Responsibilities

- Deliver product presentations, Zoom trainings, lunch-and-learns, and educational sessions for sales reps, agencies, distributors, and customers
- Support BL Lighting sales representatives with product knowledge, application guidance, presentation materials, and follow-up
- Help develop and maintain product training resources, presentation decks, sales tools, and technical sales-support content
- Work with architects, designers, engineers, contractors, distributors, and lighting agencies to support project and product understanding
- Assist with product launches, sales-readiness materials, and agency education
- Attend trade shows, customer meetings, rep meetings, and industry events as required
- Help translate technical lighting information into clear, practical sales and training communication
- Track training activity, customer feedback, follow-up items, and sales-support opportunities
- Work closely with internal sales, quotations, technical, design, and product teams
- Represent BL Lighting professionally in Canada and the United States

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has direct experience in the architectural lighting industry and understands how lighting products are presented, specified, sold, and supported.

You may come from:

- a lighting manufacturer
- a lighting agency

- an electrical distributor or lighting showroom with robust commercial/specification exposure
- a product training, sales support, or technical sales role within lighting or electrical products

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in lighting, electrical, architectural products, specification sales, or related technical building products preferred
- Direct lighting industry experience is strongly preferred
- LC designation is a strong asset
- Experience working with lighting agencies, manufacturer representatives, distributors, architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, or specifiers
- Strong presentation skills, both in person and over Zoom
- Ability to explain technical lighting products clearly and accurately
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills
- Comfortable supporting sales teams, reps, distributors, and customers
- Organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined with follow-up
- Comfortable with CRM systems, presentation software, and standard business tools
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to travel within Canada and the United States

Why BL Lighting

BL Lighting offers the opportunity to join an established manufacturer during a period of growth and change. We are strengthening our sales channels, product education, agency support, and customer-facing presentation capabilities across North America.

This is a solid opportunity for someone who knows the lighting industry and wants to help shape how a growing manufacturer trains, supports, and communicates with the market.

- You will have the opportunity to work on technical lighting products, support respected sales agencies and distributors, contribute to high-profile projects, and help build a stronger sales enablement and product education platform for BL Lighting.
