What you'll do Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop creative civil engineering designs that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications using industry‑standard software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Conduct site assessments and surveys to gather data necessary for the design process, including topographical and geotechnical information.
Develop and analyze engineering calculations to support design decisions and project feasibility.
Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including cost estimates and timelines, to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule.
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies and contractors, to facilitate project approvals and permits.
Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and progress to clients and team members.




Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance design processes and project outcomes.
Mentor junior staff and interns, providing guidance and support in their career development.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations throughout the design and construction phases of projects.
Contribute to the development of sustainable design practices, integrating environmental considerations into civil engineering solutions.
Prepare reports and documentation for project milestones, ensuring thorough record‑keeping and compliance with project requirements.
Requirements A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil design, preferably within a consulting environment.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other engineering tools.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound engineering decisions.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.




A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable design practices is a plus.
Nice to have Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in British Columbia.
Experience with project management software and tools.
Knowledge of land development processes and municipal engineering standards.
Familiarity with hydrology and drainage design principles.
Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on large‐scale projects.
Skills & tools Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D for design and drafting.
Familiarity with GIS software for spatial analysis and mapping.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Project for data analysis and project management.
Knowledge of structural design software is an asset.
Ability to utilize project management tools to track progress and deliverables.
