The Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing a bottom-up inventory demand plan before the launch of a season for Wholesale, Retail and Ecommerce channels. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Allocations, Supply Planning, and Retail Operations to create an inventory plan and forecast demand based on a top-down merchandising strategy and open-to-buy.
Key Accountabilities Develop sales forecasts based on historical performance, trend analysis, and merchant strategy based on all channel needs
Create a bottom-up inventory plan at a SKU, distribution centre location, and monthly-phased level to inform total company needs
Own open-to-buy distribution based on store float, sales requirements, and promotional needs
Lead post-season analysis work with Merchandising to help inform future line requirements and
Monitor and provide feedback regarding return/exchange rates




Drive Demand Review in Sales and Operations monthly cycles to identify trends or opportunities based on current information
Review inventory based on future season opportunities and recommend an exit strategy for slow moving or obsolete product
Key Performance Indicators: Qualifications 3+ years of experience within planning, allocations or merchandising, forecasting, or financial modeling
Experience in the apparel industry within a retail or omni-channel brand
University degree, preferably in math, economics, statistics, business management, or equivalent
Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a diverse audience
