Rock Truck Operator Fort McMurray, Alberta | Full-Time, Long-Term
Heavy Equipment Operation / Haulage | Experienced | 14 and 7 Rotation
Position Type: Full time, Long-Term
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
Schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off rotation
Hours: 12 hour shifts, 84 hours per rotation week
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
Experience: Minimum 2 years operating articulated or rigid frame rock trucks in mining or heavy civil
Certification: Valid Class 5 driver's licence, CSTS-2020 or CSTS-09, Standard First Aid
Start Date: As soon as possible

The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Rock Truck Operator to join our valued client's team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a full-time, long-term position on a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation, with an immediate start for the right operator.
You will haul overburden, sand, ore, and aggregate on active haul roads in the Fort McMurray region. This is steady, year-round work with a defined rotation and a long-term project schedule,



not a short-term call out.
What You'll Do Operate articulated or rigid frame rock trucks hauling overburden, sand, ore, and aggregate
Load safely under excavators and shovels and follow spotter and loader operator direction
Haul on designated routes at posted speeds, maintaining safe following distance
Dump at designated dumps, spoil piles, and stockpiles as directed
Complete daily circle checks, fluid checks, and pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Monitor haul road conditions and report soft spots, washouts, and hazards immediately
Follow radio protocol and right of way rules on all haul roads
Work with dozer and grader operators to keep dumps and roads safe and clear
Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and field level risk assessments
What You Bring Minimum 2 years rock truck experience, articulated or rigid frame
Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
CSTS-2020 or CSTS-09 and Standard First Aid, or willingness to obtain before start
Ability to work a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation on 12 hour shifts
Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
Comfortable working outdoors in all Alberta weather conditions




Strong safety record and willingness to follow all site specific procedures
Preferred Qualifications Rigid frame haul truck experience on 777 class or larger
Previous oil sands site experience north of Fort McMurray
Class 1 or Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) and regional site orientations already in place
H2S Alive and Ground Disturbance Level 2
Winter haul road and night shift experience
Work Environment Active industrial and mine site environment with continuous heavy equipment traffic
Outdoor work in extreme cold, heat, dust, and variable ground conditions
Full personal protective equipment required at all times, including fire retardant clothing
Site access requires pre-access testing and site specific orientation
