Elevate community recreation safety as the Recreation Operations Coordinator in Vernon. This role demands strong leadership to ensure recreation facilities are secure, clean, and fully operational.

Reporting to the Manager of Business Services, this role requires overseeing City recreation facilities, including the Active Living Centre and pools. You will assume the responsibilities of Chief Engineer for ammonia refrigeration plants, lead preventative maintenance, and manage a diverse team of Facility Operators and Custodians. Expertise in regulatory compliance, customer service, and teamwork is essential for this hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with Technical Safety BC and WorkSafeBC regulations
• Oversee daily maintenance and custodial care of facilities




• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of Facility Operators and Custodians
• Coordinate emergency response drills with local fire departments
• Maintain audit-ready records for safety and operational systems

Requirements:
• Diploma in Facility Management or related field
• Valid Refrigeration Operator Certification
• Minimum three years in facility operations
• Valid BC Driver’s License
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
