We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Visual Art Teacher to inspire creativity and artistic expression among students of various ages. Duties

- Develop and deliver engaging visual art lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, emphasizing techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages experimentation, self-expression, and critical thinking
- Assess student progress regularly through projects, presentations, and critiques to provide constructive feedback
- Write and follow year plans, unit plans, and daily lesson plans that follow the BC Ministry of Education requirements
- Daily, weekly, and monthly assessment including writing report cards
- Incorporate BC Ministry of Education Visual Art learning strands and outcomes into lesson planning to ensure students receive the full mandated curriculum.




- Support students’ social-emotional growth by promoting teamwork, patience, and perseverance through creative projects
- Maintain a well-organized classroom that is safe, inspiring, and stocked with necessary art supplies

Requirements
- A valid BC Ministry of Education Letter of Permission or teaching certification that is acceptable with BC Teacher Regulation Branch standards; please note that CANDIDATES WITHOUT THIS CERTIFICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION
- Proven experience in teaching visual arts or tutoring students in artistic disciplines
- Robust background in various art techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, or digital media
- Experience working with children across different age groups
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental stages
- Excellent communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with colleagues and parents
- Basic knowledge of classroom management strategies to foster an inclusive learning environment
