The African Canadian Development & Prevention Network is seeking volunteer lawyers or notaries to lead free, community-based legal information workshops as part of our partnership with Éducaloi, Quebec's legal information organization. No prep from scratch required — Éducaloi provides ready-to-use presentation materials and support. What you'll do:
Deliver one plain-language legal information session (60–90 minutes) to community members. Ready made materials as your guide ,no need to create content from scratch
Answer general audience questions in an accessible, non-legal-advice format Upcoming session dates (tentative and open to changing based on availability) :
August 14, 2026 — Health Care: Personal Autonomy & Protecting Vulnerable Adults (seniors audience)
August 28, 2026 — Wills & Estates (seniors audience)
September 11,
2026 — Family Law Basics for Couples Who we're looking for:
Licensed lawyer or notary (member in good standing with their provincial bar/chambre)
Comfortable presenting general legal information to a lay audience (this is public legal education, not individual legal advice)
Strong communicator, patient with questions from non-legal audiences Why volunteer:
