Role Description This full-time remote Web3 Consultant role focuses on advising York University stakeholders on blockchain and decentralized technology strategies. The Web3 Consultant will assess institutional needs, propose practical use cases for Web3 solutions, and develop implementation roadmaps for areas such as credentials, research, and digital engagement.

Day-to-day tasks include conducting technical and market research, evaluating platforms and tools, preparing documentation and reports, and presenting recommendations to academic and administrative teams. The role also involves collaborating with IT and functional units to ensure security, compliance, and scalability, while providing training and guidance to staff and faculty on Web3 concepts and best practices.





Qualifications

- Strong understanding of Web3 technologies, including blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and tokenization.
- Experience with major blockchain ecosystems and tools (e.g., Ethereum, layer-2 networks, wallets, web3 libraries, and related developer platforms).
- Skills in technical and market research, business analysis, and use-case discovery within complex organizations.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into transparent, accessible guidance for non-technical stakeholders and to create concise documentation and presentations.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, and regulatory considerations related to blockchain and digital assets, especially in education or public-sector contexts.
- Experience working in consulting, innovation, product strategy, or digital transformation; higher education experience is an asset.
- Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and remote-working skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
