HOURS: Day shifts (Monday to Friday) 0800-1600 (hours subject to change based on operational needs)
Position Summary:
The clerk works as a member of the Brockville General Hospital Mammography department providing clerical support with the Ontario Breast Screening Program department as well as Diagnostic mammogram bookings.
The clerk will participate in in-services and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe and healthy patient centered environment and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Secondary School Diploma with a required post-secondary training in office administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three year experience working in a clerical/administrative role within a diagnostic imaging department or health care environment required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and Microsoft Explorer
- Demonstrated excellence in spoken and written communication
- Able to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision
- Robust interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
- Demonstrated work experience with focus and ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff, patients and the general public
- Ability to organize work tasks and work independently
- Good attendance and availability required
