ABOUT THE CHANCE





NL Health Services – Western Zone is seeking a permanent full-time salaried Family Medicine Physician to provide primary care services at the Calder Health Care Centre in Burgeo, NL. Duties include provision of outpatient and inpatient services along with after-hours and weekend on-call coverage on a regular rotation.

The regional referral centre for Western Zone is Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a 164-bed facility serving a population of approximately 80,000 people. NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and academic interests are encouraged and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)




- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services Western Zone including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide outpatient and inpatient primary care services at the Calder Health Care Centre
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call coverage on a regular rotation
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

As per Memorandum of Agreement

Step assignment determined by the Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines, with yearly progression thereafter.
