Join the Environmental Monitoring Branch and play a pivotal role in driving strategic project delivery and operational excellence.In this role, you will lead strategic, branch-wide projects that support environmental monitoring programs and modernization initiatives. Working closely with program experts and Information Technology partners, you will help ensure business needs are understood and reflected in new processes and information systems.You will act as a bridge, helping translate operational requirements into effective solutions, ensuring priorities are aligned, projects are well managed and decision makers have the information they need.Information SessionWant to learn more about the role, the team, or the branch? Note: this session is optional and has no impact on hiring decisions.Enjoy working from our Etobicoke office at 125 Resources Road, a well-connected Toronto Region location offering convenient access to highways, parks, transit, and nearby services.About the jobIn this role, you will:Lead complex, cross-divisional projects that support branch and ministry priorities.Work with environmental monitoring staff and subject matter experts to identify business needs, and opportunities for improvement.Represent program perspectives in modernization initiatives.Collaborate with IT partners to help ensure technology solutions meet business and operational needs.Monitor project scope, timelines and risks, and provide recommendations to support successful delivery.Prepare business cases, briefing materials and other presentations for decision-makers.Develop strong working relationship,



facilitate collaboration, resolve issues and build consensus among stakeholders.What you bring to the teamProject leadership and deliveryYou have:Experience leading complex projects or business transformation initiatives from planning to implementation.Project leadership skills to define scope, establish priorities, manage risks and monitor progress.Leadership ability to direct and coordinate the work of project staff and external consultants.Experience working with a range of partners, including technology teams, to support initiatives involving information system or business process improvements.The ability to balance business needs, operational requirements and project objectives to achieve results.Analytical and strategic problem-solvingYou have:Strong analytical skills to assess business needs and identify practical solutions, including those involving digital tools or technology systems.Experience evaluating recent processes, technologies or service delivery approaches that support priorities.The ability to assess risk and develop mitigation strategies and resolve issues.The ability to provide strategic advice and recommendations to support informed decision-making.Stakeholder engagement and communicationYou have:Strong communication,



facilitation and relationship-management skills.Experience building productive relationships and working collaboratively across teams.The ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Skills in presenting, persuading, negotiating, and building consensus to navigate competing interests.Experience in preparing business cases, decision notes, and presentations.Experience collaborating with technical teams to support the development and implementation of business solutions.KnowledgeYou have:Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and best practices.Knowledge of business process improvement, program delivery and organizational change concepts.Knowledge of information management and digital delivery concepts.An understanding of program and technology development processes to support business and operational outcomes.Awareness of environmental science principles, practices, and relevant provincial/federal legislation (e.G., Ontario Water Resources Act, Environmental Protection Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).Don't meet every qualification?If you are excited about this position and meet most, but not all, of the listed qualifications, please still consider applying.
