We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Lead Operations Officer, Fixed Income Settlements to join a dynamic Capital Markets Operations team. Work Arrangement
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
37.5 hours per week
Core business hours
Overtime opportunities available
Hybrid Model:
2 days in office, 3 days remote
One designated office day per week, second day flexible
Work arrangement subject to business needs
Key Responsibilities
Manage and resolve fixed income settlement exceptions.
Perform daily settlement activities for repo, pledge, bond, and safekeeping transactions.
Investigate and resolve cash and depository reconciliation breaks.
Coordinate with internal partners and global settlement teams to facilitate efficient trade settlements.
Monitor and identify operational risks, escalating concerns as appropriate.
Respond to inquiries and requests through team-managed communication channels.
Support process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Maintain and update process documentation to ensure business continuity.
Participate in cross-training activities to support team coverage.
Assist with audit requests, confirmations, reporting activities, and ad hoc projects.
Attend team meetings and contribute to ongoing operational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have
Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, settlements, operations, or a related financial services workplace.
Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-starter with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with securities settlement systems such as CDS.
Understanding of fixed income products, bonds, and settlement processes.
Previous banking or financial institution experience.
Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certification.
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Structured onboarding program.
Up to 8 weeks of ongoing training and support.
