Position: Business Development Manager
Reports To: Executive Director
Work Hours: 35 hours – in person
Rate of Pay: $75,000 - $80,000 annually
Employment Term: 3-year contract with possibility of extension.
About DBNC Dixie BloorNeighbourhoodCentre (DBNC) is a Mississauga-based family service organization offering a broad range of programs across settlement and newcomer support, employment services, family and early yearsprogramming, community health, conflict resolution, poverty reduction, and wellness. We work collaboratively to create welcoming spaces, inclusive programs, and meaningful opportunities for families, newcomers, job seekers, older adults, youth, and childrenwith the supportof funders including IRCC, United Way,Ontario Trillium Foundation, and Ontario Health. Position Summary DBNC is looking for a strategic and outward-facing Business Development Manager to lead our growth efforts. This senior role is for someone who thrives on relationship-building, sharp analysis, and leading a small team through the full business development lifecycle from strategy to signed contracts
You will report to the Executive Director, and work closely with Senior Directors, and our marketing team to shape where DBNC grows next, and turn that vision into a strong, well-managed pipeline.
Duties and Responsibilities Strategy & Planning Refine DBNC’s business development strategy, factoring in performance data, sector trends,
and our evolving partnerships.
Help set revenue targets for FY26 and beyond, by service line, region, or market segment.
Pipeline & Proposal Management Identify and cultivate new relationships across core and emerging markets.
Own the full pipeline process from prospecting and qualification through outreach, proposal development, negotiation, and close.
Stay hands-on with proposal development to ensure deliverables are accurate, on-brand, and on-schedule
Reporting & Insights Build and manage a business developmentdashboard tracking contract value, win rates, and conversion metrics.
Set clear KPIs for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
Collaborate with finance and program management to keep reporting and targets aligned.
External Presence & Leadership Represent DBNC at conferences and networkingevents, andgrow strategic partnerships.
Lead a team of three, with regular check-ins, clear expectations, and coaching support.
Championa collaborative, high-trust culture that reflects DBNC's values.
What You Bring Degree/diploma in business administration, marketing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+years in business development,client relationship management, partnership development, or a related field, ideally within the nonprofit or broader public/community services sector.
A track recordof generating leads, growing revenue, and managing a full pipeline from strategy through signed contracts.
Strong analytical skills, with fluency in Excel and/or CRM systems for dashboards and reporting.
Advanced skills in Office Suite 365,SEOand other marketing tools.
Excellent communication skills and real,demonstratedleadership experience.
Compensation Salary range $75,000 - $80,000.
