An X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment.They ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety, following radiation protection standards, and assisting physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform X-ray procedures as prescribed by physicians
Prepare and position patients correctly for imaging
Operate and maintain radiographic equipment
Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed (ALARA principle)
Verify patient identity and explain procedures to reduce anxiety
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff
Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergencies if needed
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of imaging rooms
