Become a Sessional Instructional Assistant for the American Sign Language 1 course at the University of Toronto. This role focuses on teaching fundamentals of ASL, Deaf culture, and student engagement in an online format.

The Faculty of Arts & Science is seeking a qualified candidate fluent in ASL and English for an emergency posting. Responsibilities include grading, invigilation, and assisting with course assignments for LIN211H1F. Your expertise in Deaf culture and ASL will be crucial in creating an immersive learning experience for approximately 35 students.

Key Responsibilities:
• Grade assignments, tests, and exams promptly
• Invigilate tests and exams during course sessions
• Deliver engaging tutorial sessions as required




• Assist instructors in course design and implementation
• Maintain transparent communication with instructors via email

Requirements:
• Fluency in ASL and English; native-like proficiency required
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and community experiences
• Familiarity with ASL curriculums like Signing Naturally
• Preferred Master's or PhD in a related field
• Previous teaching experience at UofT is an asset
