Position: Senior / Principal Backfill Engineer
Location: Canada
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior/Principal Backfill Engineer to join our Geotechnical team, with opportunities to be based in Canada.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering technical assignments with minimal supervision,



integrating within the project team while taking responsibility for your discipline. You will work under the guidance of a Project Manager, or stepping into the Project Manager role when required. You will also play a key part in managing and mitigating AMC's risk exposure while actively promoting AMC's services.

Leveraging your extensive experience and industry networks, you will proactively market AMC's services and deliver chargeable consulting work.

Salary
C$130,000 - $200,000, the salary will be based on your overall experiences and qualifications.

Skills And Competencies
Core functions

Manage and deliver consulting assignments, serving as Project Manager when necessary

Complete technical tasks within established timeframes and budget limits

Provide guidance, supervision, and support to junior staff and consultants





Develop and maintain client relationships to support AMC's brand and project portfolio

Generate and oversee an individual portfolio of consulting assignments (target: 60% self-sourced)

Review colleagues' work and participate in internal knowledge-sharing activities

Adhere to AMC's risk management, health, safety, and quality assurance policies

Ensure project documentation and client communications are current and accurate

Competencies

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proficiency in fostering team collaboration

Skilled in managing multiple priorities and consistently delivering high-quality results under demanding conditions

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with established experience in negotiating with both internal and external stakeholders

Possesses a strategic perspective and an action-oriented approach to business development

Recognized for resilience, autonomy, and accountability in fast-paced environments

Advanced technical problem-solving and sound decision-making skills

Committed to maintaining high ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity

Qualifications And Experience

Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Mining or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Minimum ~10-15 year s' experience in the mining industry with a broad experience of backfilling methods. Also required is experience undertaking backfill projects and/or operation of backfill systems.

Proven ability to work independently, manage projects, and market services.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

High ethical standards, professionalism, and alignment with AMC values.
