Job Description
The Outreach Worker supports women and families as they transition from emergency or transitional housing to safe, stable, and independent living. The role focuses on empowering clients through ongoing support, advocacy, and connection to community resources.
Whatyou’llbe doing:
Intake with clients, including needs assessment
Provide one-to-one emotional support
Provideappropriate informationand referrals
Provide assistancewith safety planning
Provide assistancewith goal planning (including educational and employment goals)
Provide advocacy with government and community agencies as per practice/policy
Provide information on navigating the family justice system, including referrals to legal aidand accompaniment to legal appointments and court
Provide information about the criminal justice system
Liaise with government and other community agencies
Keepaccuraterecords,filesand statistical information as per practice/policy
Other duties as required(always include at the end of responsibilities section)
Whatyou’llneed:
Experience providing support to women who have experienced violence from an intimate partner
A feminist analysis of violence against women by an intimate partner
An understanding of the intersection of oppressions
A strong knowledge of the criminal and family justice systems
Strong communications skills
The ability to work collaboratively with other staff and other organizations
Knowledge of resources in the Fraser Valley would be an asset
A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) isrequired.

Pay Rate:$28.75per hour
