Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference on matters relating to the aging population and Alberta’s seniors? If so, the Seniors Strategic Planning Branch is looking for you to join their team!

The Seniors Strategic Planning Branch (within Seniors Division) promotes programs, policies, and initiatives to address social isolation, elder abuse, older workers, ageism, transportation needs, and aging well in community for older Albertans. In addition, the branch is responsible for community-based seniors serving sector development, administering community grants, supporting collaboration with stakeholders, and providing input on cross-ministry policies and programs to support seniors from a government wide perspective.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Community Partnerships, all responsibilities are performed in accordance with legislative, policy, and procedural guidelines applicable to the branch, and objectives established by the Executive Director.

This position is responsible for:

Support full-cycle grant management: drafting, execution and report analysis.

Working strategically with internal and external stakeholders to advance outcomes related to the business plan and minister’s priorities.

Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.





Supporting the planning and execution of initiatives to increase the profile and awareness of senior’s issues.

Develop plans, project charters and communications products.

Assist with assessments and reviews of applications and nominations.

Prepare briefing materials, reports and updates.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

As the Community Program Advisor, in addition to your education and experience, you will demonstrate well-honed competencies in the following areas:

Qualifications
Minimum Recruitment Standards University graduation in business, communications, social services or other related fields, plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or

1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

The following experience is required:

Experience in program planning and delivery.

Experience developing project plans, briefing notes, reports and presentations.

The following experience is considered as assets:

Experience supporting government full-cycle grant management and administration.

Technical competencies including financial, data or qualitative analysis.

Experience in event planning, including project management and coordination.

Stakeholder relationship management.

Awareness of Seniors programs and services.

Knowledge of government business processes and systems.

Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.

Hours of work are 08:15 AM to 04:30 PM, Monday to Friday. This is a full-time permanent position, working 36.25 hours per week.

Location: The work location is at 44 Capital Boulevard – 10044 108 Street NW, Edmonton
