Are you a powerhouse leader with a passion for live events, community impact, and operational excellence? We want to meet you.

About Us (Real Quick)
We’re the Southeast Event Centre — a brand-new, state-of-the-art, multi-use facility in Steinbach, Manitoba. We host everything from concerts and tournaments to corporate events and cultural festivals, and are home to the Steinbach Pistons. We’re built for the community, powered by purpose, and driven to be the regional hub of entertainment and connection.

The Role: General Manager
As our GM, you’ll lead a driven team and keep every part of the Southeast Events Centre running smoothly — from operations and programming to guest experience and financials. You’ll work with the Board and community partners, steer strategy, and help shape the future of this vibrant hub. If you thrive on big ideas, smart planning, and unforgettable events, this is your stage.

Leading a strategic planning session with your leadership team to align on long-term goals and key initiatives for the Centre.

Reviewing major event bookings, approving capital expenditures, and making staffing decisions to ensure smooth operations.

Meeting with City of Steinbach representatives to discuss partnership updates and ensure compliance with the City’s Operating Agreement.

Collaborating with the Controller to review financial reports, assess budget performance, and prepare for an upcoming board presentation.

Walking through the facility with operations staff to ensure everything is running efficiently and safely—ready for a sold-out concert or community event.

Brainstorming with the events and operations team on new ways to attract diverse events—from trade shows and tournaments to local festivals.

Hosting a sponsorship pitch meeting with a potential corporate partner to explore revenue and brand-building opportunities.

Engaging with local stakeholders, tourism leaders,

and community organizations to strengthen partnerships and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

Conducting one-on-one check-ins with department directors to support professional growth, resolve challenges, and foster a high-performing team culture.

Reviewing compliance documentation, health & safety protocols, and emergency preparedness plans to ensure full regulatory adherence and readiness.
