Overview:
Leads the development and quality of nursing programs, ensuring clinical standards, training, and culturally safe practice across sites. A Nursing Program Advisor provides guidance, leadership, and expertise in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing programs. The role supports policy and procedure development, mentors nursing staff, reviews training and education programs, and collaborates with partners to align services with organizational goals and community health needs.
What You’ll Do:
Design and update nursing curricula, orientation, and continuing education.
Support evidence‑informed practice and policy development.
Mentor and coach nurses and interprofessional teams.
Evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with leaders to align programs to community needs.
Prerequisites:
Grade 12 diploma — completed through one of: Regular Grade 12, Adult 12, or GED.

Education & Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (or equivalent) with experience in education/program development.
Strong facilitation, curriculum design, and evaluation skills.
Knowledge of Indigenous health and cultural safety.
Admission Requirements (Pathway Notes):
You cannot begin this program directly from high school unless admitted into the SCBScN program.
Begin with the College of Arts and Science or the Nursing Readiness Certificate.
Required High School Classes (for college admission):
Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre‑Calculus 30.
Science courses at the 20 or 30 level.
Social science and language courses at the 20 or 30 level.
Note: High school classes required for admission may differ from classes needed for degree completion (e.g., Chemistry 30 is required for first‑year chemistry).
Required Grade Average:
Mature Admission:
Proof of age (21 or older).
Written submission demonstrating capacity for university‑level studies.
Transcripts of any secondary or post‑secondary coursework.
Less than 18 credit units of transferable post‑secondary coursework.
Proficiency in English.
