We are seeking part-time Badminton Instructors to join the Athletics Team at our downtown location. As a Badminton Instructor, you will oversee the delivery of Junior Ladder, Group Lessons, Private Lessons, and Precompetitive and/or Junior Development Programs. You will play a vital role in promoting physical activity and fostering a love for the sport within the Club through coaching, nurturing and supervising our young players. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic recreational environment, guiding players of all ages and skill levels to achieve their personal best.

Responsibilities: Plan and instruct private and group lessons,
taking attendance at each class and filling out the results cards for each participant including the level attained and billing lessons as needed
Support with the organization and instruction of all Junior Competitive Badminton Athletes and their development. This includes but is not limited to technical skill development, physical conditioning, preparation for competition and coaching at tournaments
Promote and uphold a positive and respectful environment that encourages program discipline both on and off the court
Lead by example by promoting and maintaining a culture of safety through consistent adherence to workplace policies, protected work practices, and all applicable health and safety regulations
Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and used safely during sessions
Qualifications: Minimum badminton playing proficiency equivalent to a provincial A level or higher
A comprehensive knowledge of the rules and etiquette involved in badminton
Previous experience working with children in a coaching, instructional, or recreational setting, with the ability to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment
Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with members, parents,
and players of different ages and skill sets
An energetic and positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire players
First Aid and CPR certifications are considered an asset

Additional Details: These are part-time positions that report to the Badminton Professionals. Successful candidates may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check including a vulnerable sector check, Respect in the Workplace, and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The Club does not provide assistance with obtaining Canadian work authorization.
