We're currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to join our Stratford, PEI"team.
Purpose:
The Agricultural Equipment Technician independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
Test repaired equipment for proper performance
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
May attach components and adjust new farm equipment
Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Maintain a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment
Experience:
2+ years of experience performing service repairs
High school diploma or equivalent.
Diesel Mechanic Red Seal certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred
Valid driver’s license.
Forklift license an asset.
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
Ability to use basic computer functions
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

Hours: 40-44 hours/week
Wage range: $20/hr-$32/hr
