Job Summary & Key Responsibilities The instructor is responsible for lecturing on the characteristics, evolution and special adaptations, behaviour, population biology, and ecosystem roles of marine mammals.

This role includes designing and implementing all course assessments exam invigilation); general administration of the course (handling student issues, providing necessary student accommodations, building and managing a course Brightspace site, submitting grades, hiring/supervising TAs, etc.); and assisting students on an individual basis.

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus, or out on field trips if appropriate.

The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position Advanced degree in biology with teaching and research experience in marine mammalogy.

Demonstrated ability in lecturing to students in an undergraduate course.

Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement Additional Information All offers of employment as a Part time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
