Overview

A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking a licensed lawyer with experience in private equity funds and/or alternative asset classes, ideally with exposure to debt-related matters. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, supporting fundraising, fund formation, marketing, and capital management activities, with a focus on open-ended fund products.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft and negotiate fund formation documents, including offering memorandums, LP agreements, subscription documents, and side letters
- Support bespoke investment vehicle formations and fundraises, including rated products
- Review investor marketing materials and manage closings of new commitments




- Collaborate with capital management and portfolio teams on capital-raising and debt platform initiatives
- Negotiate credit facilities and other debt instruments
- Manage external counsel on fund formation, fundraising, and debt-related matters

Qualifications

- JD with 7+ years of relevant fund-related experience
- Background in a major law firm and/or fast-paced corporate environment
- Licensed in Ontario and/or the U.S.
- Experience in fundraising, fund formation, marketing, or capital management
- Debt and credit agreement experience an asset
- Commercial, solution-oriented mindset and team-oriented approach
