Job Title: Auto Mechanic Job Type: Full-time Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Waste Equipment Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service waste and recycling equipment.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills and is committed to providing high-quality customer service while ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair compactors, balers, recycling equipment, pressure washers, scrubbers, and hydraulic systems.
Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service repairs at customer sites.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Complete service reports, inspection forms, and work orders accurately.
Recommend repair solutions and replacement parts to customers.
Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and OH&S; standards.
Assist in training junior technicians when required.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines and commercial equipment.
Service pressure washers, pumps, generators, and related equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic system issues.
Order and track replacement parts as needed.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and operational requirements.
Qualifications 5+ years of experience repairing waste, recycling, or heavy industrial equipment.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Experience troubleshooting compactors, balers, or similar industrial machinery.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
Valid G Driver''s Licence with a clean driving record.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and respond to emergency service calls.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
Previous experience repairing small engines, power equipment, or related machinery.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities.
Experience with pressure washing equipment is considered an asset.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications PLC troubleshooting experience is an asset.
Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or other material handling equipment.
