Marketing Statement

Responsibilities

Compile and analyze financial data to ensure enterprise-wide accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and relevant acts and regulations.

Prepare annual audited consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes.

Conduct research on tax-related matters, particularly as they pertain to changing regulations, and make recommendations regarding impacts and accommodations for systems, processes and procedures.

Develop enterprise-wide financial reports in support of monthly, quarterly and year‑end audit requirements.

Analyze tax return information to ensure full compliance with tax regulations and adherence to deadlines.

Liaise with business leaders, providing information, explanations and interpretations on financial matters such as the impacts of policy and regulation changes.

Address Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for financial information by assessing requirements, compiling/preparing required information, and ensuring accuracy, relevance and appropriateness prior to release.

Review all publicly released statements to ensure correctness and completeness, and to ensure information is clearly presented to minimize miscommunication in financial data.

Participate in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of financial systems.

Provide day‑to‑day supervision of reporting accounting clerks.

Perform related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.

Qualifications

Degree in business and achievement of an accounting designation (CPA)



plus 5 years of progressive experience in accounting (tax experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Requirements

Advanced knowledge of accounting principles.

Advanced knowledge of all relevant acts and regulations, particularly those relating to Tax and FOI.

Solid knowledge of financial systems.

Advanced analytical skills to perform complex financial analysis.

Solid interpersonal skills to discuss and explain financial matters to business leaders.

Solid time‑management and organizational skills to ensure critical financial deadlines are met.

Proficiency of all office software, including solid Excel skills.

Work Schedule : 37.5 hours per week.

Work Designation : Hybrid – the position offers flexibility working both on‑site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay : Salary ranges from $84,480 – $126,720 per annum, depending on education, experience, skills and qualifications. Total compensation includes extended health, dental, transit pass and participation in the Public Service Pension Plan.
