About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Commutations, a pivotal role within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the actions necessary to meet the department's strategic goals. This includes identifying commutation targets, engaging with counterparties, pricing transactions, and negotiating deals.

The role also involves contributing to the broader commutations strategy, resolving business challenges, and ensuring that the company's commutation plans are in line with the business's financial objectives.



The AVP will be the primary point of contact for all assumed and ceded commutations with US-domiciled counterparties and will represent the company in external engagements as required.

Applicants for the AVP Commutations position should have 7-10 years' of experience in insurance and reinsurance, with a preference for a background in claims. The role requires a high level of autonomy, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A deep understanding of insurance and reinsurance products, as well as legislative and legal frameworks in major insurance markets, is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in negotiating settlements, including commutations or claims, and be adept at pricing and peer-reviewing significant deals.

Composure under pressure, the ability to develop operational plans, and a proven track record of leading projects and mentoring junior staff are also key attributes for this role.
