Açaí Barista / Team Member – OAKBERRY Uptown

OAKBERRY is opening at Uptown Shopping Centre, and we’re looking for energetic, reliable and customer-focused team members to join our growing Victoria team.

This position will be based primarily at our Uptown location. Depending on availability and operational needs, team members may also have the opportunity to work additional shifts at our OAKBERRY location at 801 Fort Street in downtown Victoria.

About the Role

As an Açaí Barista / Team Member, you will prepare and serve OAKBERRY bowls, smoothies and other menu items while creating a positive experience for every customer.

Previous barista, café or food-service experience is a strong advantage. However, we’re also open to candidates with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service
- Prepare açaí bowls, smoothies and other menu items accurately and consistently
- Complete ingredient preparation, portioning and restocking
- Take customer orders and process payments using the Square POS system
- Prepare and package in-store, pickup and delivery orders
- Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients and toppings
- Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe workspace
- Clean and sanitize equipment, preparation areas and customer-facing areas
- Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities
- Receive, organize and rotate inventory when required




- Work efficiently with the team during busy periods
- Follow all OAKBERRY recipes, procedures and service standards

What We’re Looking For

- Previous barista, café, quick-service or food-service experience is a solid asset
- Friendly, positive and genuinely customer-focused
- Reliable, punctual and accountable
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation and detail
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Able to stand for extended periods and complete routine cleaning and restocking duties
- Availability on weekdays and weekends; availability for at least one weekend day is preferred
- FOODSAFE Level 1 certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain it
- Ability to reliably commute to Uptown Shopping Centre
- Flexibility to occasionally work at our Fort Street location is an advantage, but is not required

Position Details

- Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities
- Approximately 10–35 hours per week
- Additional hours may be available for team members able to work across both Victoria locations
- Pay: $18.25–$19.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience
- Tips in addition to hourly pay
- Anticipated training and start period: late August to early September 2026
