Sanitation Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Associate to join our operations team. In this role, you will help maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of a food processing facility and common areas while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position plays a critical role in supporting facility cleanliness, food safety, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

Sanitation & Facility Maintenance

- Follow approved cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Complete daily sanitation and janitorial documentation.
- Clean laboratories and production areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of offices, boardrooms, locker rooms, lunchrooms, washrooms, hallways, trucker lounges, and receiving areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and dust designated areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling containers.
- Remove cardboard, plastic, and organic waste from production areas.
- Clean warehouse floors and sanitation equipment.
- Replenish consumable supplies throughout the facility.
- Monitor and maintain janitorial inventory levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized workplace in accordance with food manufacturing standards.

Quality & Compliance

- Follow HACCP, FSSC, ISO, GMP, and company quality requirements.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals and sanitation materials are used safely and correctly.
- Complete required inspection and quality documentation.
- Support food safety and quality initiatives throughout the facility.

Safety

- Adhere to all workplace safety procedures and protocols.




- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a safe work environment.

Qualifications Required

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing, processing, or similar industrial environment.
- Experience operating industrial floor scrubbers and floor-cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. (25 kg).
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred

- Experience with HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO, GMP, or other quality systems.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or bobcats.
- Previous sanitation experience in a food processing environment.

Schedule & Reporting

- Reports to: Production Supervisor
- Shift work required; flexibility is needed.
