Kangaroo Logistics is a full-service freight brokerage based in Laval, QC, specializing in temperature-controlled and food-grade freight across Canada and cross-border into the US and Mexico. We move freight for shippers who can't afford delays or breaks in the cold chain — which means precision and communication aren't optional, they're the job.

The Role

We're looking for a Logistics Coordinator to own track-and-trace on active shipments — confirming pickups, monitoring transit, flagging delays before they become problems, and keeping account managers and customers informed in real time. This is an entry-level role and the primary training ground for a career in freight brokerage at Kangaroo.

This is not a data-entry job. Temp-controlled freight has zero tolerance for silence — if a reefer unit fails or a load is running late, the coordinator who catches it in hour one instead of hour six is the difference between a saved shipment and a claim.

What You'll Do

- Track active loads from pickup to delivery using our TMS and internal tools, confirming status at key checkpoints
- Communicate proactively with carriers to confirm on-time pickup/delivery and resolve delays
- Flag temperature excursions, mechanical issues, or schedule risks immediately to the account manager and, when needed, the customer
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date shipment records and documentation (BOLs, PODs, temp logs)




- Escalate problem loads according to Kangaroo's standard procedures — know when to solve it yourself and when to pull someone in
- Support account managers with check calls, carrier follow-ups, and basic reporting
- Learn carrier vetting, lane pricing, and quoting fundamentals as a path toward account management

What You Bring

- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable on the phone with carriers and customers
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred, given our Quebec-based carrier and customer base
- Detail-oriented — a missed status update on a food-grade load isn't a small mistake
- Able to stay calm and organized when multiple shipments need attention at once
- Comfortable learning new software (TMS platforms); prior experience a plus but not required
- No prior logistics experience required — we will train the right person

Nice to Have

- Exposure to freight brokerage, warehousing, or the food/cold chain industry
- Familiarity with load brokering TMS or similar dispatch/tracking systems

Growth Path

This role is the entry point into Kangaroo's sales and account management organization. Coordinators who demonstrate strong carrier communication, problem-solving under pressure, and reliability on temp-controlled freight are considered for advancement into Account Manager roles.

Schedule & Location

On-site at our Laval, QC office. 08h00 - 16h00

Pay: $42,500.00-$59,500.00 per year
