QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

ABOUT

Reporting to the QC Lead and working closely with the Production Team Leader and Activities Coordinator, the Quality Control Technician inspects and tests completed TrueRC antennas and related products before they are released.

The role confirms technical performance, workmanship, final appearance, labeling and package contents against approved TrueRC procedures and product-specific acceptance criteria.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNCTIONAL TESTING AND PRODUCT RELEASE

- Operate approved testing equipment and software.
- Perform routine functional testing on completed antennas and related products.
- Review technical readings and visual test outputs displayed on a computer monitor.
- Compare test results against product-specific acceptance criteria.
- Make accurate and consistent pass-or-fail decisions.
- Release conforming products and clearly identify or quarantine non-conforming products.
- Escalate unclear, unusual or technically complex results to the QC Lead or Production Team Leader.

WORKMANSHIP AND FINAL VERIFICATION

- Inspect assembly and encapsulation work for compliance with approved procedures.
- Confirm that finished products are clean, properly assembled and free of visible defects.
- Verify that the correct label has been applied and matches the product.
- Confirm that all required accessories and package components are included.
- Complete the final product and package verification before shipment.

NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS AND REWORK

- Classify failures using approved defect categories and disposition rules.
- Complete simple repairs or rework when trained and authorized.
- Separate and route products requiring more complex repair, technical review or disposal.
- Retest repaired or reworked products before final release.
- Apply established rework and scrap procedures consistently.

DOCUMENTATION AND TRACEABILITY

- Record completed testing, failures, rework, retesting and scrap activity in the QC log.
- Maintain traceability between each tested product, its test result and its final disposition.
- Document recurring defects and significant quality trends.
- Help maintain practical and accurate quality-control work instructions.

PRODUCTION COORDINATION AND FEEDBACK





- Confirm daily QC priorities based on production requirements and shipment timing.
- Communicate identified defects to the appropriate production employees and supervisors.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback regarding workmanship, encapsulation, cleaning, labeling and packaging issues.
- Identify recurring defects and communicate trends to production and operations leads.
- Support immediate correction when a straightforward issue can be resolved at the production workstation.

TRAINING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

- Learn the existing quality-control process and become independently capable across assigned products and SKUs.
- Help document testing procedures and examples of acceptable and unacceptable results.
- Support the future training and cross-training of additional quality-control employees.
- Participate in improvements that reduce recurring defects, unnecessary rework and testing delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe QC workstation.

REQUIRED SKILLS

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Solid attention to detail and ability to make consistent decisions using defined criteria.
- Ability to follow strict, detailed and product-specific procedures.
- Comfort reviewing technical readings and visual test outputs on a computer monitor.
- Manual dexterity and comfort working with small electronic components.
- Basic computer and tablet skills.
- Ability to learn an ERP or production-tracking system.
- Basic soldering, troubleshooting, repair or rework experience is an asset.

EXPERIENCE WANTED

- Experience in quality control, product inspection, functional testing or electronics manufacturing.
- Experience with RF products, antennas, wireless communications, UAVs, aerospace or a related manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Experience performing soldering, troubleshooting, repair or rework is an asset.
- Experience documenting work procedures or training employees is an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Starting wage: approximately $30+ per hour.
- Eligible employees may participate in the company benefits program after completing 90 days of employment, subject to the terms of the applicable plans.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Predictable shift work in a clean, climate-controlled indoor production and testing environment.
- Much of the work is completed at a comfortable seated testing workstation using specialized equipment, software and a computer monitor.
- The position involves handling small electronic components rather than the harsh weather exposure and heavier physical demands commonly associated with outdoor or heavy-industrial work.
