As we prepare for the anticipated launch of our new walk-in clinic in Welland, we are looking to expand our team and ensure we are ready to meet the needs of our patients from day one. We’re currently seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic and community-focused pharmacy team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions
- Provide exceptional service to patients through clear communication and compassionate care
- Input prescription information accurately using Kroll Pharmacy Software
- Prepare blister packs, compliance packaging, and compounded products according to patient and prescriber needs
- Process third-party billing and resolve claim rejections
- Manage refills and prescription follow-ups in coordination with clinics and patients
- Handle in-person, fax, and telephone prescription requests professionally
- Support inventory management: receive, organize, and maintain medication stock
- Participate in regular inventory audits, returns, and wastage documentation
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency
- Respond to patient inquiries and escalate clinical questions to pharmacists
- Assist in preparing documentation for services and clinical programs
- Ability to multitask and assist with various pharmacy tasks such as data entry and filling prescriptions

Qualifications (*Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience and familiarity with pharmacy systems)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Canadian community pharmacy setting (asset)
- Proficiency with Kroll Pharmacy Software (strong asset) or willingness to learn quickly
- Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant diploma program or equivalent (preferred)
- Secondary school diploma (required)
- Familiarity with insurance and drug plans
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Willingness to be trained in compounding services
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, workflows, and hours
- Comfort interacting with patients in-person and over the phone, ensuring a positive patient experience
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a genuine interest in community healthcare
Position Details
- Job type: full time
- Location: Welland, ON
- Expected hours: minimum 30-40 hours/week with flexible scheduling options available on both weekdays and weekends
- Compensation: $21 / hour
- Work setting: on-site
