Your Chance:
The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled & dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join the Pediatric Mental Health Team on Unit 301. This specialized 11-bed inpatient unit provides assessment, treatment & support for children experiencing complex mental health concerns that may present through behavioral, emotional & psychiatric challenges. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients & their families within a therapeutic, recovery-oriented environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in therapeutic engagement, comprehensive mental health assessment & the development, implementation & evaluation of individualized, goal-directed care plans. In this role, you will utilize the nursing process, critical thinking & sound clinical judgment to promote, maintain & restore health while ensuring the safety & well-being of patients. You will provide evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care that supports recovery, resilience & positive treatment outcomes. Working collaboratively with patients, families, caregivers, schools, community partners, and multidisciplinary team members, you will contribute to coordinated care planning and continuity of care. You will also provide clinical leadership, advocate for patients and families, and support the ongoing advancement of evidence-informed practices within the program. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence and qualified accountability.

Description:
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. A minimum of one year of recent experience working in a children's mental health setting is required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in mental health assessment, therapeutic interventions, trauma-informed care, treatment modalities and medications used in the care of children with complex psychiatric illness is required. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, behavioral management, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and assessment skills, along with strong organizational, critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities. The ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and caregivers is essential. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team & adapt to a dynamic clinical environment. Experience providing family-centered care, collaborative care planning & evidence-informed mental health practice is preferred. Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification. Demonstrated proficiency in de-escalation techniques preferred.
