About the Role
We are a premier luxury pre-owned dealership in London, Ontario, specializing in high-end Cars, Trucks, Vans, and SUVs. We are seeking an experienced Automotive Bookkeeper to manage our full-cycle accounting and office administration. We need a "numbers person" who understands the complexity of automotive financial transactions and OMVIC record-keeping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage Accounts Payable/Receivable, daily bank reconciliations, and month-end financial statements.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using QuickBooks
- Deal Jacket Auditing: Review all finalized sales files for accuracy, ensuring all bills of sale, trade-in documents, and financial contracts are complete and compliant.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file HST returns, WSIB and ensure all luxury tax (if applicable) and provincial tax requirements are met.
- Garage Register Maintenance: Maintain the dealership’s Garage Register as required by the Ministry of Transportation and OMVIC.
- Payroll: Process bi-weekly payroll, including source deductions and T4 preparation.
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and audit preparations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Automotive Industry Experience (Preferred): You must have a solid background working in a dealership environment. You understand the flow of a "deal" from the sales floor to the back office.
- Financial Software: Proven experience with QuickBooks (Required)
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
- Familiarity with payroll processing and related compliance requirements
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and maintain accurate financial records
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external auditors
- OMVIC/MVDA Knowledge: Strong understanding of the record-keeping and disclosure requirements under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act.
- Professionalism: As we deal with luxury inventory, a high level of discretion and professional communication is essential.
- Analytical Mindset: You enjoy "digging into the data" to ensure every penny is accounted for in our inventory and sales records.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $22.00–$28.00 per hour (commensurate with dealership experience).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
