District Bar Restaurant is a premium casual gastro lounge with a scratch kitchen serving the busy stadium, entertainment district and Yaletown community. Serving lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends we are hiring a full time Cook 1 and Cook 2 .
Job Summary
- Assisting Head Chef in preparation and service of all meals
- Working independently and with team on line (garde manger, fryer, grill, entree)
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
- Follow all food safety guidelines and proper storage procedures for ingredients and leftovers
- Support other kitchen staff as needed during service periods
Qualifications
- Three (3) years previous experience in restaurant kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
- Passion for delivering high-quality meals and exceptional customer service
