Meehan's Industrial's custom steel fabrication shop builds structural steel and custom fabrications in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Located in Milton, Ontario, with a team of 4-5 fabricators.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on leader to run day-to-day operations of our fabrication shop — someone who can manage a crew, keep jobs on schedule, and hold the line on quality. This is a working foreman role: you'll be on the floor, not just walking it.

Duties

- Oversee and manage daily shop operations, including scheduling and workflow
- Coordinate and prioritize work orders to ensure on-time completion
- Assign tasks to shop technicians and provide hands-on guidance and training
- Supervise and coach a team of 3-4 technicians/fabricators, including performance feedback
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies and materials as needed
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to blueprints/specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, escalating as needed
- Enforce and maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
- Report shop status, delays, and issues to management





Requirements

- 3-5 years of experience in a custom fabrication or machine shop environment
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or lead role, managing other tradespeople
- Strong fabrication skills, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of various mechanical systems
- Welding experience (CWB ticket an asset, not required)
- Ability to rig and lift heavy objects using appropriate equipment
- Knowledge of plasma cutting processes
- Certified forklift operator, or willing to obtain certification
- Working at Heights / fall protection certification an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and transparent communication

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00-$35.00 per hour
